Upset Universe

My dear friend Lesley has brought to my attention some really interesting points that I would like to share with you. As much as I have really enjoyed myself here in Vancouver, there have been some weird things that have happened to me since I have arrived:
  1. I worked at a café where I was being watched and listened to by my manager – I cannot confirm this, but I believe it to be true.
  2. There was a crazy snow storm here in Vancouver in November and every Vancouverite that I have spoken to says this: “this has never happened before, it’s not usually like this…” blah blah blah, yadda yadda yadda,….obviously they’re liars and don’t like to admit that they actually get winter EVEN though they do!
  3. It’s December and I wake up in the middle of the night to howling, gail force winds. I was scared, I was pretty sure the apartment was going to topple over. Later I found out that trees that have been here for billions of years have been up-routed out of the soil, oh ya, and the Aquarium in Stanley Park was been closed.
  4. In November I started a new job and the first two weeks that I started there it was pouring rain outside like mad…I got soaked a number of times. Due to the large amounts of rain there were problems with some water holder things and this made the water in Vancouver BROWN. They had a warning out not to drink the water and because I didn’t know about the warning I was actually drinking the water.
  5. I defrosted some bananas in the microwave and then out of nowhere they burst into flames.
  6. My cat has had to go to the vet twice since we’ve been here; she never had to go to the vet in Toronto.
  7. My bank card was copied and someone stole money from me.

Lesley is right; I have upset the balance and the force of the universe. Just like when I went traveling to the UK and I went to Brighton and a few days after I left the pier burned down. Then when I went to Glasgow I stayed at this really nice hostel and then I heard a week or two later the hostel had burned down because of some electrical fire.

Perhaps I should stay in doors at all times. I’m a destructive force.

Please advise.

Unbelievable

So today I'm out with Dave and we're doing a little grocery shopping and I go to the till to pay like $10 for my food and I decide to pay debit since I never have any cash on me and a message comes back saying "card not accepted."
I'm like wtf? So luckily Dave hands me a twenty and we're on our way.
Dave and I head to Starbucks on the way home and I try my debit card again, no dice. Dave steps up and tries his card and his doesn't work either. So I'm like alright, it's probably just a debit thing.
I go home, relax, talking to my parents on the phone and I check my online banking and I noticed that there was a withdrawal yesterday of $320.00. I thought that was weird, I didn't go out last night. I call the bank and I ask them what that withdrawal was. The dude is like, oh ya, you took out $320.00 at this location. Of course I ask what location. He says "Bathurst."
I say back to him "Bathurst...in Toronto?"
Yes, he replies.
I say to him, that doesn't make any sense, I'm in Vancouver right now, there's no way that was me. He's like okay then your debit card has been copied.
WTF???
So some asshole thought it was pretty clever to copy my card and steal money from me. I don't even have that much money to begin with so where the F do they get off? Who knows how long this has been going on for.
I've had to file a police report, have my card cancelled, have my privacy invaded, and have $320 stolen from my account which leaves me with $2.
Okay, I get that there are thieves out there, but seriously, if you're trying to rob from someone rob someone who has more than $500 in their account!!
I'm so mad!
Luckily, I'll get my money back - in a few weeks - and I have no bank card - for 7 to 10 days and I get paid on Tuesday and I don't know where it's getting paid too.

Lesson learned: don't go to shotty ATM machines; stick to your bank machine; don't trust Torontonians or Vancouverites; trust no one or no thing.

Signed,

Sightings

Was out to and about in Yaletown today getting some lunch and I was heading back to the office, you could probably say I was about 10 ft from the entrance to my building when I stepped on the sidewalk and noticed this man walking past me, probably the same height as me, funky coloured glasses, and pretty stylish clothes. I looked at his face and he looked really familiar to me, so I stopped in my tracks, thought about it, kept on walking, stopped in my tracks again, looked back at the guy, kept walking, stopped again, looked back again, this time with a more perplexed look on my face. The man who had just walked by me was, wait for it....Bono.
How excited was I? Super excited.

Sad story

Recently, my cat, Twoberdoo had to go to the vet because either a) Little attacked her or b) Two burned herself on the heater. I believe it was the former.
Anyways, we took her to the vet and the vet put some cream on her. A few days later Two scabbed up and then the scab fell off.
Well, the medicine that the vet had put on the cat made the cat act all funny like. How you say?

Look! Look what the vet has done. She's turned my cat into some sort of freak.

Now we have to take her back to the vet.

Two has to get eye laser surgery done to put them back to normal.

Poor Twoberdoo....

who is the guy who dies because he has that song in his head and sings it all the time??

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens,
White copper kettles and warm woolen mittens,
something and something are tied up with string,
these are a few of my favourite things

When the dog bites when the bee stings
when I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favourite things
and then I don't feel so bad.....

There really isn't much else to say, except for the fact that this song is in my head ALL the time. I don't even know all the words.
