I don't want it to end!

I'm really sad that winter is nearing an end. I mean, I really enjoyed the delicate, flakey snowflakes that gently caressed my face, and also the way the minus 20 temperatures smashed into my face like sharp knives. I'm going to miss those days. If only we had winter all year round. Think about how great life would be. We could build snowmen all the time, wear huge winter jackets, and long, colourful scarves, and my favourite, heavy, clunky, salt stained boots. I am seriously thinking of moving to Nunavut. I hear the people are friendly and they love a good deer killing. You can't go wrong with that! One great thing about Nunavut is that in the summer the sun never sets, it's like 4 in the morning and it's like, let's go to the beach, or in this case, the ice. I really don't see why anyone would want to live in warm climate. Like Baz Lurhman says, "living on the west coast makes you soft...." Nobody likes a softy-pie.

As of late I've noticed the snow slowly melting into lake-like puddles in the street, I'm really going to miss the days when it was rock hard ice and I could skate my bike across the sheet of ice and race the car beside me on the street. I'm especially going to miss the times when I would fall on the ice and break my ankle and have to go to the emerge because my ankle broke in two places.

One of the greatest winter memories happened just yesterday, I went tobogganing at the local mountains and hit the slopes with fast and fury. I managed to beat my friends down the hill! The only problem was that I thought it was warmer than it was and I got frost bite on my two pinky fingers. One of winter's greatest things - frost bite. Man, I had to get my pinky's cut off and then dethawed them and then had them reattached. Thank goodness for winter. I mean, I wouldn't have any of these kinds of wonderful experiences to share with you.

Between you and me, I really don't want winter to end. It's my favourite season in the whole world! Screw Spring, Summer, or Fall, those seasons are for the softies! Bring on the snow...I'm ready and waiting!

Until next time!

Caryl
